Under the Michigan Crime Victims Rights Act, an individual who suffers direct or threatened physical, financial or emotional harm as the result of a felony or other included crime, is entitled to the following:
1. Emergency and medical services, if applicable.
2. You may be eligible for crime victim’s compensation benefits.

3. Michigan CRIME VICTIM Notification Network, 1-800-770-7657 is a free, confidential 24-hour telephone service that allows you to check on the custody status of inmates in the county jails and to register for automated notification when an inmate is released, transferred, is scheduled for advanced release, work release or dies.
This program is designed to provide you with quick and easy access to information and assist you in preparing for an offender’s release. If you feel you may be at risk, take precautions as if the offender has already been released.
4. If within six (6) months, you are not notified of an arrest in your case, you may call the Thomas Township Police Department for the status of the case.
